Popcorn anyone?

So the other day, after messing with the boat, Jimmy washed his hands and started flipping the paper towels he dried them with in front of Jake. He thought it was the FUNNIEST thing, and laughed hysterically! I got it on video!!

AND he almost has crawling down. He kind of leap frogs around. So funny!

Happy Birthday Jimmy!!!

Monday was Jimmy's birthday and we had a great time! Sunday, we went boating with Brock and Alicia. I finally was able to go knee-boarding, though it kicked my butt! I'm still sore. Maybe if I do that every day for a couple months I'll have a six pack. HAHA Jake stayed with Nana and Poppop (Jimmy's Parents) then that night we had dinner over there to celebrate Jimmy's birthday.

Monday, he open his gifts from Jake, Patch and I. I was very excited this year for the presents we got him. He got an outfit, items for the boat and a GC for indoor skydiving!
Then we got ready and went on the boat again! Nana and Jayden came with us.
The water was a little chilly right when you got in, but felt good within seconds. The boys loved the water!

We even took them tubing.

It was a great day!

Rounding out the timeline

After visiting my mom, she decided to come back to Vegas with Jake and I for a week to chill after finishing her semester of school and to see Atley, Brock, Alicia and Jimmy, and a couple of friends and family.

It was a pretty active week. Monday, I bought some flowers for my garden and planted them.
Lunch with Judy on Tuesday and dinner with the Hudema's for Cinco De Mayo. Wednesday, Brock, Alicia and Atley came over for dinner to celebrate Atley's birthday.

She opened her gifts and blew out her cake and then stayed with us for a couple of nights.

The kids got along great and played together so cute!

They played in the bathtub... it was adorable!

We went swimming at my aunt's house Thursday. Jake absolutely LOVED it!

He's such a stud! (Me, not so much)

And on Friday, we went to Brock's volleyball game (they won of course) and dinner to celebrate Mother's Day!

While it was an active week, it was really great to spend more time with my mom.

Whatcha catchin??? UP!

**Warning- there are a LOT of pictures in this post.**

Finally catching everyone up to speed. The week before last, Jake and I headed up to Layton to visit my mom, step dad and sister. It was my mom's birthday that week so we thought it would be nice to see her and everyone else too... of course.

Maddie and I bought my mom some balloons and I made a home-made carrot cake for her... shredded the carrots and all! She opened her gifts and then we went to dinner at Tepenyaki (sp?). It was so fun! Jake was AMAZING by the fire show going on in front of us.

The rest of the week we hung out. My mom and I planted flowers in her backyard and that night, I released lady bugs on them. It was such a cool experience!

Maddie had this HUGE stuffed ape that we got for Jake to play with... he wasn't too thrilled with it though. HAHA

Maddie and I took Jake up to the park. That was HILARIOUS! There were these gnats that would NOT leave Maddie alone.

If you look closely at this picture, you will see the swarm of gnats!

Jake was taken down the slide by both of us,

and then decided to get eaten by this green guy. HAHAHA

Here are some additional photos from the week.

It was a good time. Love you Mom, Dan and Maddie!!!

To all the wonderful Mothers!

Okay, okay! I know! I've been M.I.A. for a while. Jake and I went to visit my mom up in Layton for a week, then when we got home our computer wasn't working... so I haven't posted for a while.

A lot has been going on but today I just simply want to post about Mother's Day! (I'll get the rest of the updates on our lives this week) Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there. I got this amazing e-mail from a friend the other day... it's a poem about mothers and I wanted to share.

Before I was a Mom;
I made and ate hot meal,
I had unstained clothing,
I brushed my hair every day,
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
I slept as late as I wanted and I slept all night long.

Before I was a Mom;
I cleaned my house each day,
I never tripped over toys or forgot lullabies,
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on,
chewed on, peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom;
I never thought about immunizations,
I never held a screaming child so the doctors could give shots,
I never looked into teary eyes and cried,
I never felt my heart break into pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt,
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

Before I was a Mom;
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down,
I never sat up late hours of the night watching a baby sleep,
I never got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything was okay,
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

Before I was a Mom;
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts and my body,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body,
I didn't know that having something so small could make me feel so important,
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom.

Before I was a Mom;
I never knew that something so small could effect my life so much,
I never knew that I could love someone so much,
I never knew I would love being a Mom,
I didn't know the bond between a Mother and her child,
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a mom.

It's all so true and just beautiful.

Today was my first official Mother's Day! It was an amazing day, let me tell you. Jimmy took little man for a little bit in the morning so I could sleep just a little longer. When I got up, I was presented with breakfast; dippy eggs with toast! My FAVORITE! Then I got flowers, chocolate and some beautiful cards from my boys.

After that, Jimmy told me what my present was. We were going to Floyd Lamb park to fish!!! I was so stoked because I can't remember the last time we went fishing. I believe well over a year because I don't remember fishing at all when I was pregnant and I know we haven't gone since Jake was born. So we bought our licenses (which was also part of my gift!), packed some lunch and headed out.

We found our first spot under a big tree where the geese were hanging out. Jake was RIGHT next to them.

We ate our lunch then baited our lines with night crawlers... aka worms (Silly Wal-Mart people made sure we understood they were night crawlers... whatever!).

Here is Jimmy trying to get a good one.

And my little man's first time fishing!!!!!

Look at his catch! Pro already!

My boys fishing together.

Momma and Jake... (I look sick!)

I was getting camera happy when there weren't many bites. I got one and Jimmy got a couple but no fish for us!

There was the most adorable Momma Duck with her babies! We were feeding her gold fish crackers.

Jake was pooped by the end of the day, so we packed up and headed out.

Such a wonderful Mother's Day!
