Random facts

On another forum there is a post going around that if you get tagged, you need to list 16 random facts about yourself... so I thought I'd post it here also!

16 Random Facts about Me

5. I have to put chap stick on every night before bed or I can’t sleep.

7. If I don’t have my necklace on, I get scared and/or feel awkward.
8. At one point I wanted to be a sex therapist, and sometimes still do.
9. I often take things “too far” in conversation.
10. I could talk about my son for hours and not get bored (though I’m sure the person on the receiving end might).

Cereal time!!!

We broke out the food last night for Lil Man. He had sweet peas and didn't really seem to know what to do. It really was hilarious.

After a couple bites, I asked Jimmy to take a bite to see if they were any good.

He didn't like them too much... said they needed to be warmed up.

Jake very quickly fell apart and decided he was done with peas...

BUT this morning, he had cereal which he didn't seem to mind...
and he even tried to feed himself!
Such a big boy! Patches tried to get some cereal too, but I didn't get a picture of that. He is growing up too fast now! I need to slow time down. Geez....

Growing up

Lil man is growing up so fast. He finally has been able to play in his activity center and last night we put up his jumperoo. While fun in them only lasts about 20 minutes, it's 20 minutes I can just sit back and watch him play, admiring the amazing little boy he is.

I've come to realize that I am totally spoiling him and frankly, I don't care. I can't get enough of hugs and kisses and snuggles. And I know sometimes I need a break but I love that he smiles when he sees my face and will gladly let me kiss him a million times if I want. He is just the sweetest baby ever!!!

I recently heard the saying "You will never know your parents' love until you have a child of your own". I have always known my parents loved me but it hasn't been until I have had Jake that I can even imagine the amount of love they have for me... because the love I have for my son is beyond anything I can explain. It is such a different love than anything I have experienced and I am so grateful to have this opportunity.

Another thing no one ever told me about parenthood is the guilt you feel when your child is hurt or crying or upset. I want to be able to fix it, even if I'm the one who made him feel that way. I feel like I should be able to fix it and because we are human and make mistakes, sometimes you can't fix it or make it better right away. This really is the toughest job in the world and I thank my lucky stars every day that my wonderful husband works hard to allow me to be home with Lil man every day, helping him grow and learn new things. Such a great gift that I would NEVER trade for anything in the world.

And with that, a smiling baby in my lap, we are off to play. Have a good one!

Park day

In the middle of January in Vegas, the temperature was 67 degrees outside... absolutely beautiful. So what do we decide to do? Make is a PARK DAY!!!!!!!!
I was very excited about it. Jake's first day at the park... really his first day "playing" outside. How much can a 3 month old play, right? Well, mom was still excited! And our poor pup... she hasn't been outside to play (besides the back yard of course) in months. So that was our plans, we loaded up and headed out.

First we had to stop by 7-11 to get lunch- the world's best hot dogs, no joke! And chips and drinks.

We got to the park, set up our little blanket, ate our hot dogs while Jake whined because the sun got into his eyes for a millisecond. Poor kid.
Then I became camera happy! I snapped tons of pictures of Lil Man and sometimes I think he feels like he is famous with the paparazzi following him because soon he gets pissed with evil looks...

Case and point.

We then decided to feed the ducks. I know Jake can't throw the bread but hell! I was determined to make it a full park experience... especially because the playground was closed for repair... go figure.

Patches didn't really enjoy the ducks but she was out of the house so she didn't whine at all!

After duck feed and some walking around the park, we sat again on our blanket, took a couple more photos then headed home. All in all, a great day for the Belangers!

I am...

I am... a proud mother to the most incredible little boy that I love more than anything in this world. He is rolling over (only been a couple times), laughing AND sitting big in his bumbo chair.

I am... crazy in love with my wonderful husband, my best friend. We have the greatest little love story!

I am... thankful for my wonderful family- my parents, my siblings, my neices and nephews, my grandparents, my aunts, my uncles, my cousins and my great friends.

I am... creative, beautiful, crazy, fun, kind, caring, amazing and happy.

I am... a great mother, an amazing wife, an awesome daughter, a kick-ass sister, a sweet granddaughter, a cool aunt, a good friend and so much more.

Sometimes people just need a little confidence booster, no matter what it is. Being a mom, I have realized my life is so much more than looks. But I have a man that loves me no matter what, he loves me for me! And I have a son who calms when I hold him and smiles at me when we look at each other, he loves his Mama. I have parents who are incredible and are always there for me as well as sisters, brothers and so many other people. I have friends that will listen when I need them too, or party with me when I need a little "girls night out". All in all, I have a GREAT life and the most extraordinary people to share it with.

Our first post

Well it is a new year and I thought I'd better keep up on updating everyone since I have been lacking. And I figured this was the easiest way! Christmas was awesome, but I am happy it is over. It can be stressful, and then having a little one to take shopping with you can add to that stress... but Lil man and I got it done!!!!

My resolution for this year is to keep this thing updated weekly with what is going on in our lives. I get to stay home a couple more months with Jake so I'm pretty happy. He is growing so fast, I can't believe it! Soon he will be able to play in his activity center and jumperoo and he's getting close to rolling over. Jimmy is going back to school for IT classes and he's working hard! We are all lucky to have each other.

Well until next time, keep it safe and fun!!!
