Friends on Mondays!!!

It's Friend Makin Monday - created by Amber @ http://amberfilkins.blogspot.com/

1. Favorite things about Spring:

The weather, being outside without melting, birds chirping, flowers blooming, cruising on the boat, wearing flip flops...

2. What I'm doing for Spring Break:
I technically don't get a spring break BUT for my sister's spring break, she's coming down to visit me for the whole week! and I CANNOT WAIT!

3. Favorite Spring flower:

Hibiscus flower is definitely my fave. BUT unfortunately, we don't get many here in Vegas. Too hot to stay alive long. Tulips I love too! They are so pretty.

4. Do you have a garden?
I did, but now it is a sand box for Jake. And I'm okay with that because I don't really want to try to keep up with it in the heat we will soon have.

5. If so, what do you grow.

I did grow just basic little flowers and ground cover. If I were living in a better environment, I'd try more exciting things I think.

6. Do you do Spring cleaning?

Sometimes. I did just clean my computer room because it looked as though a tornado ripped through it. I need to start on Jake's room and maybe the master room a little.

7. What is your weather *really* like right now? {Just b/c it's "officially" spring, doesn't mean that it feels like it for some of you}
Beautiful! I think today its somewhere around 76, with a very faint breeze. Just lovely!

8. Snapped any weather related photos lately? Share one with us!

Yesterday at the lake!

9. What's your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon?

Definitely going on the boat. But other wise sit out back, listening to music with Jake playing in the yard. Love having the windows open too!

10. Favorite TV show right now?

Bones. I'm addicted to it and I'm assuming they are taking a spring break (and they had Idol in the middle of their season) so I have another 2 weeks without a new episode!
I'm also loving the new show "The Marriage Ref"! I think it's hilarious!

Zac who??

***WARNING:: Below are pictures of some... crazy people. Beware ********

Zac Brown Band concert.. well what can I say? It was a very fun night, though the show wasn't the best. Prior to heading out, we had a couple drinks and some pizza at Kerry's house. So yummy! Jennifer made jell-o shots and I think maybe, just maybe I had one too many. We then hoped into our safe ride, a limo, and headed to the Hard Rock!

Once we got there, us girls, being very typical, had to go to the bathroom. And once in there, we HAD to take a mirror shot.

Then we got into the concert. Here is Zach! YAYAYAY!

The show opened with three, yes THREE, opening acts... which weren't that great! I was most excited about Joey and Rory. They were finalists in "So you think you can duet" a while back.
But since we were all pretty tipsy, I don't think anyone really minded. Looking back on pictures, I can tell just how tipsy James and I were. See... here is one.

Then the next. Yes, we are INSANE! HAHAHA But that's okay.

I wish I could post more pictures, but sadly my unstable self didn't take very good pictures. But I did enjoy myself. There was a brief cry in the middle of a song and I felt silly for crying... but all in all... a FUN night with GREAT friends!
So until next time, have a good one!

New friends!

I saw the most adorable blog idea with an awesome theme... Friend Makin Mondays! People with blogs can all connect. This week, the blogger, Amber (http://www.amberfilkins.blogspot.com/), is having people fill out these questions/statements below. Here I go!

I am.... so excited about finding this new blog!
I think.... Que Mas is the best Mexican Restaurant ever.

I should... blog more often
I dream.... of becoming a sign language teacher and hopefully owning a related business.
I want.... ice cream, preferably chocolate
I know... how to play sudoku pretty well.
I don't like.... onions. I actually HATE them.
I smell... nothing right now.
I hear.... Jake's signing video playing. "Mom has a mom and she's my grandma!"
I fear.... summer will come too soon and this beautiful weather will be gone.
I usually... kiss Jake a hundred times a day.

I search... google all the time for craft ideas, especially around holidays.
I miss.... being young with no worries or stress.
I always... have to put chap stick on before I go to sleep, otherwise I will NOT sleep.
I regret.... very little in my life. I figure at the time, it's what I wanted to do and got me to where I am today.
I wonder.... when we will hear anything... where we will be in a year.
I crave.... to see big numbers on Sunday at WW.

I remember... very little about high school but almost everything with Jake.
I need..... a kiss from my boys.
I forget.... to change the laundry over all the time.
I feel.... happy taxes are finally done.
I can.... make my son and my hubby smile and laugh.
I can't.... wait for this weekend and the lake hopefully.
I am happy.... period.

I lose..... pounds. Though slowly, it is the healthy way! Oh AND I do lose everything! Keys, shoes, my mind! haha
I sing.... when I'm alone or around people I'm comfortable with.
I listen... to good music, a wide range of it too.
I shop..... more for Jake than anyone. But soon will be for me when I'm a few sizes smaller.
I eat.... better now! Veggies and fruits are becoming my friends.
I love..... James, Jake, family and friends more than they will know.
So until next time, have a great one!

Got my toes in the water...

Tonight is going to be one fun night! Three girlfriends and I AND all our loves are going to see Zac Brown Band!

Yes, I talked Jimmy into going with me. Such a sweet hubby I have. I know he is not looking forward to it, BUT maybe he will actually enjoy himself. Extreme wishful thinking huh? HAHA

We are getting a sweet ride!

And before the concert will have some delicious drinks. Lets just hope they look this pretty.

And the concert will be made even better by the great company! Sadly, I do not have a picture of all 4 of us girls together, so tonight that will change! YAY!

So while I'm singing my little heart out to "Chicken Fried" and "Toes" I hope you are having as much fun with people who are just as awesome as my friends.

And until next time, remember "Life is good today"!

Marriage Ref

There is a new show on by Jerry Seinfeld called "The Marriage Ref". I LOVE this show. It's hilarious and really opens your eyes up about marriage that much more. They don't tackle tough marital problems, but silly little spats couples have.

On the first episode, the host said he has friends who aren't married because they are waiting for their "soul mate" and explained there is no such thing and to just marry someone who you can tolerate for more than a day. I have to agree with this! While I do NOT believe people should settle, I think when people start looking for far too much in a marriage, it is doomed. Marriage is tough enough then trying to add insane expectations... come on!

But really, I recommend this show. It's help me appreciate my husband so much more. I know we are not "soul mates" (but I do believe people who are married for a LOOOOONG time can become soul mates) but we love, respect and can tease and play with each other. We try to keep it simple, as the Marriage Ref would say. So here's to keeping your marriage simple! Don't add to or enter into a marriage with complicated BS or ridiculous fantasies. Believe me, movie fairy tales are NOT real! But love, respect and fun with your spouse can be real.

Well until next time, have a good one and go check out this show! :)

As promised

As promised yesterday, I have finally done an update. There are many posts after this of the events we have been up doing these past couple weeks... that we actually got pictures of. We have been a busy group of people... from the zoo, to hockey, to park days, and the boat.

On top of all that, Jake and I also started our classes we are taking at the rec center. Last week I started Zumba. It's a lot different than I expected and I am the youngest in my class, but I have a lot of fun. Jake started Mommy and Me dance class last week too. It did not go so well. He was so shy and did NOT want to participate or leave my side. But today, we had another class and though he was not completely involved, he did a lot more than last week.

I have also been doing pretty well on weight watchers. In 4 weeks, I have almost lost 10 pounds. YAY! Still working out and running like crazy so I'm hoping by the summer, I will be down a couple sizes. Also, on May 1st, I am running a 5k for breast cancer with (hopefully) my sister and some friends.

We really have been on the go these last couple of weeks. And the weeks to come are not seeming to get any slower. This month we have a concert, monster trucks, park days and classes. And before we know it, Easter will be here. And we are hoping for a great Easter with some family, my mom, step dad and sister, coming to town. So excited!

Through all the hectic-ness going on in our lives, Jake has been growing up so fast! He is talking a lot more and just getting smarter every day. I cannot believe at the end of this month, he will be 18 months! Where did my baby go?

I had to put this picture up, because it is one of my faves! He's so cute! And (for the most part) well behaved and ALWAYS fun!

So that's an update on us right now. And many more updates of the events that I previous mentioned on the posts below. Sorry if you really wanted a craft, but maybe if you ask nicely, I'll still make you one! But maybe not a bean bag chair... sorry Kerry! That might have to wait for a little bit. HAHA

Well, until next time. Have a good one! And LOVE to all! I really have no idea who reads my blog, but if you are one that does. I'm sorry it took so long to write on here, but we really do love you! :)

Gooooooo Mike!

Sunday, we went to the hockey game to support Mike, Autumn's boyfriend! GO MIKE! He is #9 for the Wranglers.

Jake always has such a great time at the games and this time he had even more fun since his friends were able to come!

Jimmy and Jake played "Chuck a Puck" during a break, but didn't win. Dang it!

And the kids were able to meet "The Duke"! HAHA Far away is always a little better at that young age.

Jake had a good time playing with Kolten too. Though at one point he hit his chin on the chair when jumping and got a fat lip. Poor baby.

Here's a pic of all of us! Not the best of me, but oh well! HAHA
Gotta love hockey games! So fun!

Ready, set... go!!!!!

Last weekend, my dad and step mom, along with their friends, came to town for the races and we were able to go visit them! We had a great dinner and a fun time!

Jake played with my dad. He laughed like crazy over the little games they were playing.

Then he played football with daddy and Dave. (Sorry it's a little fuzzy)

Here's a little pick of my boys. I think Jake kept getting distracted by the planes. HAHA

But he decided to cooperate with a pic of him and mom!
Jake then put on a funny little hat... for only a second to get a picture, then he wanted it off.

It was such a fun night. Thanks guys for having us out there! :)

Zoo-a-hoo

A couple weeks ago, Jake and I went to the zoo with Stephanie and Jayden. This zoo was... not a zoo. HAHA It was very lacking, I guess you could say. Out of the 300 animals it said to have had, I'm guessing 250 were birds!

Here's Jake, the Zoo Keeper!

And Jayden.

Jake got to ride an elephant! Good thing it was tame. HAHA

There were some pretty cool snakes there. This one was HUGE!

And the best part of this peacock doing a mating "shake" at the female in front of him. She was NO interested in anything but the food on the ground, poor guy.

And this was my favorite picture. The boys were looking at the fish. Don't they look so innocent. Awww... if that were only the truth. haha

I think the boys had a good time, and that's what counts. So I guess I count that as a good day!

Lake time!

In February, the weather was just perfect! SO we were lucky enough to be able to get the boat out for the first time this year. No swimming or anything, but cruising! SOOO fun and relaxing. Just amazing. And we were lucky the boat ran as good as it did... because... the night before as jimmy and I were getting it ready... I ran the boat... into... the... gate! :( Thinking back on it, it was hilarious BUT I almost started to bawl! So embarrassed. The boat was fine but the gate... needs a little help now.

Anyway, Jake had a blast. He snuggled into me while driving. He hates his life jacket and to avoid him from screaming, he sits in my lap and we 'nuggle. So fun!

Then since he knew I was taking pictures of him, he decided to point the camera at daddy... and this is the shot he got.

Then I asked if I could take a picture of him... and he did this.
Imitating daddy!!!!!!!!! HAHA I almost cry laughing when I see these two pics. HAHAHA He serious WOULD NOT look at the camera and is looking away almost exactly how Jimmy is.

Once we stopped to just hang out on the lake, we were able to take pictures with our lil man.

Then a sea gull came by and another... and another! By the time we were able to leave, there were 7 sea gulls surrounding us.
We were throwing crackers (to attract them obviously) and this picture just cracks me up. See the goldfish? The birds were seriously THISCLOSE to the boat. We could have handed them the crackers had I not been so scared.

We then had lunch at the Marine Restaurant and finished the crackers by feeding more ducks and fish. Jake LOVED it.
It was so great and I can't wait to get out there again. Go away for ONE weekend, Rain! Then come back during the week. Thanks!

Promise...

Okay! I know I haven't blogged for almost 2 weeks (if not more) and there is a lot of blog about. SO I promise tomorrow you will all get an update. AND if I do NOT keep my promise, I will make you a craft! Your choice. How does that sound? HAHA So keep your eyes peeled!
