Follow me

I noticed just tonight that I had a follower that I did not know. And I absolutely LOVE it! It's very interesting and exciting knowing people are actually looking at my blog that don't know me. WOOO!!!!

It got me looking at other blogs, and following those blogs. I found this adorable 10 year old girl that I can't wait to read more about... And this lady who has a new baby, 4 months just yesterday I believe. It is so much fun to be able to connect to people you don't know through this amazing little website.

Sooooo... if you are reading this, and don't know me... Follow me!! HAHA It's like I'm the crazy kid in the back asking people to be my friend. But seriously, it's very cool. So yeah, just add on to my "follower" list. I dare ya!

Thinking, planning, planning, thinking...

So I have been going crazy with ideas for Jake's first birthday. I know it is 3+ months away but I can't stop thinking about it. Today, we went to Michael's and all their b-day plates and napkins were $1 for a pack of 8 so of course I had to get them!

I have been looking around at different cake ideas and theme ideas and I have a couple. But I kind of want to make a batch of cupcakes and test my cake ideas before the birthday but I'm trying to be good, so maybe for 4th of July or something I'll do it. Who knows!?!?!

Jimmy also thinks I'm crazy obsessing over this but I figure if I get ahead start, what's the shame in that? Especially with a baby crawling around the house... I can't wait til the last minute.

So if any of you have ideas, let me hear them! THANKS!!!

Music man

I'm totally convinced that my little boy is going to grow up and do something in the music industry. This morning, I downloaded a new CD onto my iTunes and wanted to listen to it. I pulled out the radio, plugged in my iPod and pushed play.

As the tunes were rollin', Jake stopped playing with his toys, crawled over to where the radio was and sat there, listening and staring at the sound. He LOVES music. He's such a doll!

My little CooKie MonsTer

The other day, I was eating lunch. I had a cookie on my plate to eat after my sandwich and Jake decided he wanted it instead. So what does he do? Crawls over and takes it off my plate without hesitation. So I grabbed the camera because I was shocked and entertained, laughing that my kid just snatched my dessert.

Here he is looking at the delicious treat.

Starting to eat it.
Really enjoying it...

Getting a little messy now.

And he doesn't even feel guilty!

Gotta love my sweet-toothed little boy! Wonder where he gets that from?!?!

One, Two, Three...

And my final blog to catch everyone up at the moment... there are actually three things happening.

One... I have a new hair do. Man alive, did it take a long time to accomplish what I wanted. I have never had highlights, so I was very unfamiliar with the process. Stephanie was going to do my hair so I told her to do what she thought was the best. I wanted to dye my hair black with purple streaks. I learned I had to bleach my hair before the purple could go in, otherwise it would not work. So after 4 hours, bleach, black and purple in my hair... this is how it turned out...

Yep! instead of purple, it was blue, green and blond! A MESS! HAHA
SOOOO the next day, Stephanie came back and we re-did it. After another 4 long hours, and a few touch ups the following day, this is how it looks. I LOVE it! YAY! But, needless to say, I'll never do it again... Solid colors for me, thanks!

Two... Kerry's (she is my best friend) birthday is manana and on Saturday she celebrated with all her friends. We went to California Pizza Kitchen which was to die for, then 80s night. She had so many friends there and her boyfriend. It was a good time. Jennifer and I drove together and we all danced our little hearts out. Happy Birthday, Bestie! Love you!!

Third and final task that I need to discuss. I am officially going to try to lose weight. I really need to. This past week I started cutting back on soda. That has been a challenge. I went from having about 5+ sodas a day to max of 2. And the 2 I have are cans... while I was having the big gulp size at least once a day... NOT good! It has been kicking my butt because I don't get my caffeine in the AM but I've been doing good... and drinking water. Starting today, I am going to make a VERY good effort to work out. And fingers crossed, I will stop eating all the crap I eat. I LOVE sugar way too much and it isn't healthy. BUT on a positive note, I have fallen in LOVE with pineapple, so YAY! SO, my goal is to report on this forum monthly. I'm not going to tell you my starting weight, but I will try to keep you posted with how I'm doing and maybe how much I lose each month. Keep your fingers crossed for me! And off I go to work out.

Cougars!

A couple weeks ago, my brother took his team Coronado Cougars Boys Volleyball to state.
Jake and I were there to support the team at regions and were able to watch as Brock got some amazing awards.
They won regions and got an award, then Brock got Coach of the Year for Southern Region (I believe) and a never-before-given award from the National Volleyball Association of Southern Nevada. It was sort of an honorary award. We were so proud of him and to be there to witness him getting this spectacular award.

After winning regions and the first round of state, the Cougars were in the finals for State. Jake and I were there again along with Jimmy to show our support. Jake is so proud of his Uncle Brock, he even made a sign!

The boys played their hearts out. They were so close the whole game, neck and neck with the other team. In the final game, after some really bogus calls, the Cougars lost. However, I have never been so impressed by a team of young men and I'm so pleased that we could watch the game. Good job boys!
And to my brother, Congrats! You are an awesome coach, role model and brother. We love you!
